Business Analyst - Belfast (£25k - £35k)

Do you have around 3 years' experience in preparing and delivering documentation detailing outcomes of technical processes? Can you create models and reports which provide interpretation and insight into business data? Are you comfortable using SQL and Excel?

This Business Analyst job is based in Belfast city centre and comes with a competitive salary, bonus, generous holiday allowance, pension (6%) and more.

They immediately got the attention of a fintech London-based company who specialises in helping firms manage their high-value data subscriptions. The CEO has known the founders of the Belfast-based company since they set up and was impressed with their focus in helping their clients address the ever-increasing compliance challenges.

This is the third acquisition this global business has made in the last 3 years. They now employ over 100 people across offices in New York, Minnesota, The Netherlands, London and Belfast.

The products that that supply range from data reporting and administration, high-value data subscription monitoring and powerful usage tracking solutions.

What does this job involve?

You will be responsible for interpreting regulatory documents, applying complex business rules, importing into a database based on specific criteria, applying technical solutions to problem-solving, communicate with customers in the market data sector globally.

You will be heavily involved with data sourcing, discovery and analytics using proprietary business tools. You will help create models and reports which provide interpretation and insight into business data. Data processing and mapping will be required using SQL to query the data.

What skills are essential?

You should have a third level degree in either Business Finance or IT related fields. Ideally, you should have around 3 years' experience. It is not essential that you have experience within the fintech industry, but this would give you an advantage. Your experience should include preparing and delivering documentation detailing outcomes of technical processes to a wide-ranging audience. Strong skills in SQL, MS Excel and PowerPoint are needed along with analytical and reporting skills. You should be highly numerate with the ability to solve complex problems.
