The School of Biological Sciences at the University of Bristol seeks one Senior Lecturer and two Lecturers to join our outstanding undergraduate teaching team. These full-time posts are an exciting opportunity for high-calibre individuals to work effectively in a cooperative and supportive environment where innovative approaches to teaching and learning are highly valued. Our state-of-the-art building, opened in 2014 by Sir David Attenborough, includes a newly created Teaching Hub where appointees will be based.

The successful candidates will take significant roles delivering undergraduate teaching. The senior lecturer will provide leadership of pedagogical research within the school and also lead and enhance our provision for undergraduate personal development and employability, including student placements. They will teach biology within their broad area of knowledge. The Lecturers will specialise either in the general area of molecular plant sciences, or animal physiology and neurobiology. All postholders will prepare and deliver lectures and practical classes and field courses/laboratory workshops. They will also supervise third and fourth year research projects and third year critical essays and set, mark and moderate exams. They will give tutorials to tutees in all four years, and support students' academic progress through feedback and advice clinics.

Experience of teaching students in both large and small classes is essential, along with a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with academic and support staff and to work independently and organise one's own schedule.
