Lead Designer
Based: Birmingham
Salary: £24-28k D.O.E.

Job Purpose:

  • To create digital and print assets/graphic artwork for internal clients across the brand portfolio.
  • Creation, collaboration and ownership of asset creation for multi-channel usage.
  • Shape and deliver material to grow our audiences, increase attendances and improve brand equity.
  • Design and deliver content for internal, commercial and 3rd party use.
  • To be the first and main point of contact for all visual design requirements within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Junior Designer to deliver required artwork, designs and assets, adhering to briefs, budgets and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with multiple stake-holders across all design and content requirements, including website, social media, press & media, industry publications and magazines, corporate and company exhibitions and events.
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • Ensure all work is delivered to the highest standard, adhering to brand guidelines.
  • Provide advice and expertise on how to visually deliver marketing and sales messages throughout the business.
  • Line manage and mentor Junior Designer, implementing short- and long-term objectives and goals for their development.
  • Improve the frequency and quality of our brand and marketing communications.
  • Be a brand guardian and be involved in the development of the businesses brands.
  • Understand and liaise with external partners, including photographers, Account Managers and printers.

Key Skills and Experience Required: Essential

  • 3 years' experience in an office or agency based graphic designer role.
  • BA in Graphic Design or similar subject.
  • Highly skilled in the use of Adobe Creative Suite; Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
  • Understanding of digital content development and delivery.
  • Understanding of marketing, communication, media and social media.
  • Understanding of finalizing artwork for commercial printing, including large format.
  • Ability to create work in various media for a broad range of audiences.
  • Knowledge of web design and online publishing platforms such as WordPress.
  • Ability to understand design objectives and take on constructive feedback
  • A strong design portfolio is essential and will be required at the interview stage.
