Finance Assistant - Lincoln upto £21k + benefits

The role of Finance Assistant is working for a great company in the heard of Lincoln. This will be a 6 month initial contract with a view to permanent for the right person. Providing support to the Accountant, with responsibility for managing and maintaining all aspects of the sales and purchase ledger system.

THE ROLE
  • Posting of cash, accurate allocation of payments and dealing with account queries on a daily basis.
  • Weekly internal review of aged debt with the Accountant.
  • Invoice management (ensuring invoices are received by the customer via daily email).
  • Keeping debtor days within company targets.
  • Producing customer statements.
  • Processing payment runs, including intercompany payments.
  • Attaining the appropriate authorisation before processing coded invoices.
  • Processing of expense requests
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements.
  • Management of the perpetual stock take system (Weekly Cycle Counts).
  • Liaising with members of sales, quality and logistics teams for invoice/payment queries.
  • Create new vendor / customer accounts in-line with group policy.
  • Twice yearly credit limit review on all customers.
  • ECSales & Intrastat monthly reporting.
  • Carry out ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the Accountant.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • AAT Level 2/3
  • GCSE Maths & English

Skills & Knowledge
  • Experience in a similar role essential.
  • You will be used to dealing with large volumes of sales invoices and credit notes.
  • Able to adapt to new computer systems quickly.
  • Work well as part of a team.
  • You will be a confident communicator, both face to face and over the phone, able to deal with both internal and external customers.
  • You need to have good IT skills and strong experience of Excel
  • Experience in reconciliation work.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work.
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills.
