A true 'one-stop shop', our client is very proud to offer a full project service from inception through to completion, supported by their experienced team of Structural Engineers, Architects, Surveyors, Planners & Designers.

Although a roofing contractor, they regularly take the role as a principal contractor and engage specialist sub-contractors if required to complete the scope of works.

Projects completed include, but are not limited to: Design, Flat/Pitched Roof Conversions, Strip & Re-Clad, Over cladding to Existing Roods, Single Ply Roofing, Standing Seam Roofing, Composite Panel RoofingCladding, Hard Metal Cladding & Rainscreen Cladding.

THE POSITION:

Due to continued growth in the pre-construction team, we are now working in partnership with our client to appoint a Full Time CAD Designer to work from the Manchester office.

Key Accountabilities
  • As a CAD Designer you will create high-quality detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs supplied by architects and steelwork fabricators
  • Liaise with architects and clients to understand their design requirements and provide technical advice to construction teams
  • Ensure drawings are compliant with appropriate regulations and building standards
  • Apply knowledge of materials and design principles to check feasibility of fabrication and construction of the product
  • Conduct site visits and surveys when required
  • Present working drawings for use in all stages of the project, manufacture/construction and installation
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Liaise with both architects and clients to resolve design queries
  • Ensure that drawing approvals are met within the project deadlines
  • Identify potential problems and create solutions
  • Any other duties as required by the Drawing Office Manager and otherCAD Designer

Person Specification
  • AutoCAD experience and familiar with dynamic blocks
  • Understanding of construction methods and fabrication processes
  • General construction knowledge in terms of drafting or practical experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work on your own initiative
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Forward thinking
  • Full driving licence
  • Proven ability in problem solving
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workloads
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Reliable and trustworthy

Package will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
