Teaching Assistant Job in Blackburn

Small primary school require a Teaching Assistant to work across a range of year groups

The successful candidate will work in both KS1 and KS2 across the working week

The school is connected to a local diocese and the Head teacher is keen to appoint a candidate who can uphold the faith in school

The working hours will vary from 25 to 27.5 working hours

A smaller than average school on the outskirts of Blackburn have contacted me this morning in order to short list and appoint a teaching assistant to work in a number of year groups across the school. The Head teacher has asked that the applying candidates must hold a Level 2 qualification in Teaching and Learning Support and have recent experience working in a primary school setting. As a faith school, the Head teacher has also noted that it is not essential that the applying candidate has worked in a Catholic school, but it would be beneficial. The working hours may vary throughout the working week and so the applying candidate must be flexible.

When I asked the Head teacher what she is looking for in the applying candidates, she mentioned the following; 'they must be able to work hard as part of the team here in school, be smiley and have good experiences working in a primary school' she continued to mentioned that they must be 'willing to get involved in the full role of a teaching assistant and go above and beyond for the children'

The pay is competitive and includes contributions to pension and holiday allowance. You will also be able to under go a range of professional development courses throughout the academic year including a number of Diocese related CPD.

As part of the role you will be expected to work alongside a number of teachers to cater for individual needs and additional learning needs. You will need to be able to work collaboratively with the class teachers and be able to feedback on the children's progress at the end of the lesson to ensure next steps in learning are met. You will also work as a team to ensure all the children in the class are working to their full potential and behaving accordingly.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see (url removed)/faqs for details.
