An Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' all-though special educational needs school in Sutton as actively searching for a highly experienced Behaviour Mentor / HLTA to join their school on a permanent basis from September 2019.

The Behaviour Mentor / HLTA will work in classrooms with children who are finding self-regulation a challenge. Working on empathy and social skills with children who have been noted to need a little additional focus in these areas, while collaborating closely with the SLT, the team of Teachers, Therapists and Teaching Assistants.

Behaviour Mentor / HLTA - The Person:

·Must Have thorough knowledge and experience of working with school children with Autism

·Qualified and experienced in Behaviour Management

·Prior experience in leadership and/or management

·A commitment to and an understanding of restorative approaches

Behaviour Mentor / HLTA - The Role:

·Lead Behaviour Mentor / HLTA across the whole school

·To exceed SLT's expectations for student progress in agreed areas

·To be a high-profile leader across the Teaching Assistant and Behaviour channels

·To be a leading champion and advocate of the agreed policies

·Full-time, permanent position - £20,000-£25,000 per year

This is a senior, highly visible role within the Teaching Assistant team and the HLTA / Behaviour Mentor will also play a significant role in developing the Teaching Assistants at the school to implement effective strategies for behaviour management across the school.
