Thameen - the brand

Thameen is a British luxury niche brand, exclusive to Selfridges in the UK and sold in KaDeWe group department stores in Germany, alongside a handful of niche fragrance boutiques around the world.

Each of our fragrances are inspired by precious jewels such as Moon of Baroda, the diamond worn by Marilyn Monroe in Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend . We apply that sense of preciousness to our fragrance: the oil is always the most valuable part of each product, and we go to great lengths to ensure it lasts the longest possible time on the skin. We source the best, most exclusive ingredients around the world, creating scents that embody eastern opulence with western refinement.

The brand is approaching its sixth anniversary in August 2019 and has achieved a great deal of success to date: beating the likes of Chanel, Dior, and Tom Ford, to become the #1 best-selling fragrance house in Selfridges Oxford Street.

Thameen's sense of luxury and exclusivity should be reflected across all aspects of the brand, and we look to provide personality and an experience that our customers will never forget, whether through a marketing campaign or being served in-store.

Terms of role

Thameen Sales Supervisor

This role will report to Thameen's Brand Manager.

The Sales Supervisor role is one which will assume responsibility for supporting the Brand Manager in monitoring and maintaining standards on the shop floor, helping with the smooth day to day running of the counter, and managing relationships with senior members of Selfridges management.

Specific responsibilities in this role include:
  • Leading by example, ensuring the team are consistently delivering excellence in service standards to exceed client expectations.
  • Championing Thameen and its ethos internally and externally to create an enduring brand that results in increased sales, loyalty and market share.
  • Assisting the Brand Manager in planning and implementing strategies to ensure that Thameen's commercial goals are met.
  • Helping to maintain relationships through charm and excellent interpersonal skills with Selfridges' senior management.
  • Coach and support new and existing Thameen fragrance consultants

  • Accurate reporting of all administration and stock control.
  • Collation of sales figures.

  • Deliver an outstanding customer experience demonstrating attentive customer service skills
  • Provide friendly customer service and delivering a full and memorable experience.
  • Ensure familiarity with the product range so that customers can be provided with as much detail as necessary.
  • Provide reliable information to customers in all matters relating to sales and customer service.
  • Help display merchandise as directed.
  • Contribute to the store reaching its daily, monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.

Cash Handling
  • Ensure the till is reconciled on a daily basis.
  • Ensure that cash handling is in line with Company policies and procedures.
  • All transactions to be handled in a responsible and secure way.
  • Till functions, cashing up, payments and general duties
  • Dealing with, and handling of, cash, credits cards and international currency.

Site Maintenance
  • Ensure the site is kept clean and presentable at all times.
  • Health and Safety aware.
  • Good Visual Merchandising standards.

  • Adhere to company policies and regulations.
  • Hold and attend briefing sessions
  • Can present, and conduct, themselves in a professional manner to both customers and colleagues.
  • Able to deal with international customers
  • Able to communicate clearly to consumers and colleagues.

Product Knowledge
  • Attend training days.
  • Take responsibility, and be self-motivated and pro-active, to understand all new products and apply training and instructions.
  • Be able to deliver good product knowledge to our customers.

  • Ensure products are displayed in line with Company policies and procedures.

Key Skills
  • Previous retail supervisory experience
  • Previous retail or luxury retail experience is desirable
  • Exceptional people skills
  • Proven track record in achieving sales results.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people from various cultures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
