Seven Education is looking for an SEN Teacher to work as a Permanent member of staff within an independent special School located in Westbury, Wiltshire.

The role:

You will be expected to plan and deliver an inspiring curriculum that enables all pupils to make good progress, enjoy and achieve in this subject. Students are aged between 11 and 18 with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, SEN experience is required.

Key Responsibilities:

· To plan and teach high quality lessons to support pupils in making good or outstanding progress

· To set clear targets for pupils' learning, building on prior attainment and considering each pupil as an individual

· To have regard, and plan to meet, the special educational needs of pupils

· To assess pupil work and progress giving regular feedback in line with school policy

· To develop the subject specific schemes of work for all year groups, leading towards relevant accreditation

· To report on pupil progress in line with school policy and to ensure that pupils are thoroughly prepared for examinations

· To maintain a stimulating, engaging and safe learning environment, managing behaviour in line with school policy

· To teach other subjects as required

· To undertake a pastoral and support role as required

· To attend school events as required

· To contribute to the wider life of the school, including whole-school routines, paperwork and duties

· To take responsibility for your own professional development and engage with performance management activities

Applicant Requirements:
  • Qualifications: University Degree at grade 2:2 or above.
  • Experience: 1+ year of post-graduate experience as a Teacher in the UK.
  • Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. QTS gained from an ITT programme.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 8.45am - 4.45pm Mon - Fri
