Promotion of the current Finance Director (to lead ALD UK) has created the opportunity for a new Finance Director.

The Role

The role will lead a relatively large team (80+), delivering all financial accounting and regulatory activities to a level that matches future ambitions. The role is also highly strategic, helping advise/guide the UK board via high-level analysis and in-sight, with a broader commercial customer focused approach. This requires highly effective exceptional leadership - embracing professionalism, team-spirit, innovation and customer focus combined with the rigour analysis and attention to detail required as the leader of Finance with a market leader such as ALD.

The Person

You will be a senior financial professional but retain a hands-on "lead-from-the-front" type approach, with at least 5 years senior financial leadership experience AND specific experience from within a regulated business (ideally at least £250 t/o). Quite possibly an ambitious number 2, with line management (30+ FTEs) and excellent leadership ability, candidates will also be able to demonstrate:
  • Professional qualifications - ACA, CIMA, ACCA and ideally possess suitable FCA qualification/experience (CF1)
  • Very high levels of ambition - personally and for business
  • Excellent management/leadership track record
  • A commercial approach with a broad understanding of financial, HR, systems, commercial, and legal issues.
  • Desire and ability to run a business
  • Track record of managing change, whilst maintaining people engagement - taking people along positive journeys.
