Deputy Head of Delivery Job Spec

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Delivery to work on exciting digital and face-to-face projects across a wide range of industries, technologies and educational sectors. If you are interested, please do get in touch to discuss in more detail.

You will take the lead on nurturing our University and Recruitment teams, providing the tools, training and environment for these established teams to thrive. You will be responsible for the development of key leaders in these teams, as well as planning and executing the rollout of systems that improve our operations, such as the implementation of Applicant Tracking Systems. You will also harness the ideas and innovation within the team to drive the acquisition of new business; increasing revenue by working with colleagues and clients to offer innovative, world beating products.

You will also be responsible for a portfolio of your own, delivering on corporate campaigns in the university sector. To deliver relevant and innovative employability and recruitment activities within the graduate market you will need to develop a strong network of university contacts, as well as key partnerships with other stakeholders.

You will be managing external and internal resources, making sure the delivery teams and core enablers are working effectively together. You will ensure the voices of our Cheltenham team are heard in London, and vice versa. You will work with the Head of Delivery to complete business plans to allow us to scale and ensure that these respond to the distinct needs of our teams and offices.

Your role will grow in line with our fast expanding company, and you'll help shape our growth strategy. This role will direct your existing skill-set and commercial successes, to an almost unique mix of commercial and social benefit, providing you with exceptional rewards and role satisfaction.

You will have a good knowledge of the graduate market or the university space. And through your ability to manage and enable expertise, you will be able to bring the best out of our expert teams and the leaders of them. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their ultimate client liaison, partnership and collaboration skills!

Your Key responsibilities

Team Leadership and Development
  • Manage, develop, guide and grow our brilliant University Partnerships and Recruitment Teams. Technical expertise in each of these areas is not required; the ability to provide the support, management and tools those teams need to succeed, is.
  • Directly line manage two team members and provide supportive and stretching development plans for Head of Recruitment, Senior Recruitment Manager and Senior University Partnerships Manager, and providing them the space and tools to be leaders
  • Implement and deliver effective forecasting, resource planning and people planning across your team, dependent on seasonal changes to client demand
  • Take proactive leadership in increasing revenue streams for your teams, ensuring that revenue grows year-on-year and diverse business opportunities are spotted and seized

  • Demonstrate and instill a key account mentality to build and nurture relationships with educators, clients, and external agencies. Be accountable for growing a network of engaged university partners who engage with us both as beneficiaries and clients
  • Role model excellent campaign delivery in your own portfolio of work within our University Partnerships Teams: from marketing to students or universities, managing client relationships and ensuring excellent delivery of events: this role requires the successful candidate to really deliver on the detail
  • Work with your team to sign off achievable campaign budgets and KPIs and ensure that both are kept to in delivery
  • Ensure excellent customer service and quality delivery in the University Partnerships Team
  • Manage the development and programme delivery of new product types within the University Partnerships Team

Operational Management
  • Understand, analyse and advocate for systems and product needs that will support your teams, directly liaising with Operations, Finance and Product Development teams to ensure their needs are clearly defined and heard. Manage the rollout of these systems or processes.
  • Work alongside Product Development and Tech teams to ensure all platforms are fit-for-purpose to allow optimal efficiency of delivery across all teams
  • Own and manage some of our operational systems on a business-wide level: taking the leadership position on our ATS, as well as CRM, time management software, pricing software or online platform
  • Be driven by company commercial performance, budget management, and cost control. Be proactive in finding data and build structures to ensure the team has easy access to assess and analyse their own performance
  • Be an excellent change manager: able to provide both technical and pastoral support to teams through an accelerated period of growth and change

  • Proven passion for our social mission to level the playing field for young people
  • A natural and personable leader, who gains respect, and inspires their colleagues
  • Very strong ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships
