Protocol Education are looking for an experienced or newly qualified Teaching Assistant of the Deaf to work in a vibrant and supportive Secondary school in London. This is a long-term vacancy, starting at the beginning of the academic year.

The School:
Protocol Education are working with a large, modern Secondary School that achieved a Good' during their recent Ofsted Inspection. Their goal is to use the power of education to transform lives. They have a SEND department which works with a high percentage of hearing-impaired students.

All students follow:
A GCSE / BTEC core offer English Language, Mathematics, ICT, RE, Art Awards & PE
One or two subjects from the options block Business studies, Health & Social Care, Food technology or PE, and one vocational subject delivered off-site Motor mechanics, Sports leaders, Carpentry, Music, Catering, Hair & beauty, Construction, Travel & tourism, etc.
In addition to the academic and vocational curriculum, students have access to specialist interventions, careers guidance, work experience, enrichment and social development activities, as well as, achievement/revision sessions after hours to narrow the gaps in learning

Learning Support Assistants Responsibilities:
• One to One Support for a mixed class of hearing-impaired students aged 13 -16 (KS3 & KS4).
• Supporting pupils inside and outside the classroom.
• Accompanying and supporting students with their academic and personal development.
• Being proactive in the class to ensure your learning support is tailored the student's individual need.

Protocol Education are seeking individuals with a desire and passion to support vulnerable children who have experience working with Special Education Needs students. The perfect candidate would ideally have some form of British Sign Language training. Above all, you must be approachable, enthusiastic and promote positive management and guidance to aid progression and personal development. This is a wonderful class of students who need consistency and a regular friendly face and someone they can trust and work with on a personal level
