This is a great opportunity for a Mechanical Project Supervisor / Contracts Manager to look after on-going upgrade projects based at a large process facility based in Snodland, near Maidstone, Kent.

Site based projects such as asbestos surveying / removal projects, minor construction works, building services, building maintenance, mechanical equipment etc.

This company is part of a global manufacturing group, with the Kent site having recently enjoyed multi-million pound investment.

Particular emphasis is placed upon compliance with Health and Safety legislation. The job holder also has the responsibility for the control and disposal of asbestos. A formal project management qualification is desirable but not essential.

Deputy responsible person for Asbestos Management on site including;

Six monthly inspections and update site register accordingly.
Plan and manage any short term or long term Asbestos abatement works that may be required.

Supervise project related works including;

Control of contractors.
Issue work permits including; 1) General 2) Work at Height 3) Hot Work 4) Excavations 5) Confined Space Working
Identify and ensure appropriate isolations are applied prior to any works.
Ensure contractor inductions are complete.

Planning execution and commissioning of project related works including;

Liaison with Department Managers (or deputies).
Attend project-planning meetings.
Attend shut planning meetings when appropriate.
Budget management for projects within jobholder's control.
Programme management for projects within jobholder's control.
Generate purchase requisitions in accordance with company rules (SAP).
Consultation with Compliance Manager to ensure HSEQ compliance. Ensure adherence to relevant legislation such as CDM 2015 Regs for construction and demolition projects.
Compliance to relevant compamy rules such as Loss Prevention Policy.
Manage hand over process for projects within the jobholders control including documentation such as O&M manuals, critical spares lists etc...
Obtain relevant information from suppliers to satisfy the project Technical File requirements such as Declarations of Conformance or Incorporation
Develop project scopes with stakeholders such as Department Managers (or deputies)
Develop project justifications with stakeholders such as Department Managers (or deputies)
Cost project scopes
Submit Motivation forms for Capex application
Develop CAD drawings as required
Manage project documentation transfer to Vault system
