The Company

Our client is an expanding Top 20 accountancy practice with offices across the UK and internationally. They are now seeking a Trainee Tax Assistant to join their Tax Department in Nottingham.

The Tax Department provides a wide range of tax compliance and advisory support to a diverse portfolio of businesses and individuals.

The Role

As a Trainee Tax Assistant, once you have been brought up to speed on tax and in-house practices, you will take responsibility for carrying out company tax compliance.

Receiving training from the ground up, you will learn all the elements of tax and gain expertise that will compliment the qualifications that you will gain alongside working.

You will work on a varied portfolio of limited company clients, ranging from small owner managed businesses to subsidiary companies of international groups.

Your role will also involve:

- Liaising with clients, other departments and HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC)
- Calculating tax charges
- Completing company tax returns
- Dealing with the annual tax compliance
- Assisting managers and/or partners with tax planning and tax advice

About You

Interested? Although no experience is needed, to be considered as a Trainee Tax Assistant, you will need:

- An enthusiasm for the tax industry
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- A proactive and organised approach
- Strong interpersonal skills

Although not essential, three A-levels at grade B or above would be an advantage.

Other organisations may call this role Trainee Tax Assistant, Junior Tax Assistant, Junior Accountant, Trainee Accountant, Accounting Assistant, Junior Tax Advisor, Trainee Tax Advisor, Tax Advisor, Tax Assistant, Junior Tax Advisory Assistant or Junior Finance Clerk.

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Flexibility on these hours will be available for the right candidate
