A contract, 3 months maybe more, opportunity for a SEND Transformation & Compliance Coordinator has arisen with the local authorities in Bradford.

Job Purpose:

To support the team to deliver a programme of SEND Transformation projects and work streams, delivering a number of project outcomes as defined by the SEND Transformation and Compliance Manager or Deputy Director Education and Learning.

To ensure that associated functions are delivered in accordance with the SEND Code of Practice, the Children's Act, the NHS Mandate and the Health & Social Care Act and all statutory functions.

Support implementation of key projects, linked to major transformation: identifying what is to be delivered; defining tasks and resources; developing project plans; monitoring progress; and reporting/communicating progress.

Key Skills and Experience:
  • Project and programme management concepts, principles and techniques.
  • Performance management - including monitoring, interpreting, evaluating and reporting.
  • Understanding of factors influencing SEND and participation in education, health and care provisions.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the elements of the Children and Family's Act 2014 and associated SEND Code of Practice relating to reforms for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND).
  • Knowledge of NHS, social care and education operating structures and partners respective roles and responsibilities for the delivery of SEND services.
  • Good knowledge of Inclusion Issues and the implications for schools and the post 16 sector.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience of delivering successful outcomes for children and young people
  • Experience of the management of change
  • Proven experience of managing and coping with difficult and sensitive issues and highly sensitive information
  • Ability to work in partnership with partners, Children and Young People and Families
  • Experience of working effectively in a political environment
  • Experience of managing conflicting workloads effectively
  • Proven ability and 3 years relevant experience delivering operational programmes within a large complex organisation to achieve agreed outcomes
  • 3 years relevant experience of working in a SEND related field.
