Warehouse Shift Supervisor

Our client is a leading FMCG Distributor in the UK and we are delighted to assist them in their search for a Warehouse Supervisor, to be based at their site near Wakefield.

Reporting into the Shift Manager, you will be expected to lead, motivate and develop c20 FTEs across both single and bulk pick for multiple customers across a rotating shift, likely to be 6-2 / 2-10 Sunday to Thursday or Monday to Friday with a 40hour week. Some weekends will be included and frequency of this will be discussed at interview.

You will already have experience of running a successful team in a fast-paced operation but also have the impetus to learn quickly and develop as the business continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership across all warehouse departments - goods in/out/picking loading etc.
  • Motivate, support and develop your team
  • Ensure delivery of routine KPIs by driving and supporting your team.
  • Ensure that all company administrative procedures are adhered to.
  • To motivate and encourage team members at all times.
  • To hold regular team briefings to keep everyone informed on performance and communicate important information and changes.
  • Ensure staff discipline through pro-active management
  • Ensure that the team members, act in a responsible and professional manner and adhere to all H&S initiatives and policies.
  • Communicate and implement change and manage your team through this.

The ideal Candidate for Warehouse Operations Manager:
  • Experience of implementation of SOP's and to bring fresh ideas to the table
  • From a similarly fast paced environment, you will be a hands-on leader with excellent communication skills
  • Good knowledge of WMS
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a high volume, fast paced environment
  • Lively, driven and ambitious to succeed
  • H&S aware
  • Able to lead, motivate and drive teams forward
  • To be customer focussed
