Hydraulic Maintenance Engineer

- £30p/h - £34p/h through a Limited company

- 6 month contract (initially) - very likely to be longer

The Opportunity:

We have a unique and niche opportunity that has come up to come in to a world leading, multi billion pound organisation where you are working in a standalone role, maintaining their various hydraulic tests rigs across their test facility in a newly created role.

Working in their impressive facility in Coventry, you will be given full autonomy of their hydraulic equipment working in their established team. It will be both proactive and reactive maintenance, where you will be given the chance to make improvements where you see fit. The company will also give you an opportunity to train on other parts of their kit (if you want too!) on the testing and design as well so they will train and develop you - something not to common in a contract role... Oh, and there is an excellent chance will go on well in to next year.

The Role:

This will be a varied role, using all your skill set on their various equipment, but is as below.

- Filter hydraulic fluid to make sure it is clean enough for the rig

- replace damaged hydraulic piping (need to be able to cut and bend pipes)

- remove and replace hydraulic valves

- check and address leaks

- make sure all H&S equipment is in good working order

- know what needs to be sent for calibration and make sure this is done

- perform pressure tests on the rig to ensure it is safe to use (e.g. run the rig at a higher pressure than its usual operating pressure to make sure nothing breaks)

- investigate problems on the rig and find solutions (e.g. if the rig is not delivering the right pressure, to work out what is wrong and what needs fixing)

- identify when electrical items, or the hydraulic pump needs repair and liaise with third party, or electronics dept to get the repairs done and the item back in the lab

The Person:

For the Hydraulic Maintenance Engineer we are looking for an accomplished professional within hydraulics. Sector isn't massively important, it is the equipment you will be an expert in. Any electrical (basic) and pneumatic experience would be seen as beneficial.
