Project & Systems Accountant - Group Role

To £80,000, plus Bonus and Benefits

The client is a UK £300m corporate, providing business services to major blue chip consumer brands. They have over 30 offices in as many countries across the Globe, and have a vision to be the market leader with a reputation for delivery and innovation. They wish to strengthen the Group finance team by recruiting someone capable of supporting the Group Accountant, with the development and enhancement the Group finance function, especially with ad hoc project work around the Group's expansion, and commercial activities, and also to take ownership of the Sage X3 system. Reporting to the Group FC, the role will involve significant interaction with the country finance controllers, regional FD's and the Shared Service Centre in Barcelona, so good verbal and written communication skills are a must. You will focus on developing the financial reporting, processes, and controls within the Group as well as supporting the monthly reports and statutory accounts. You will help develop the GL system and enhance its functionality.

Responsibilities include assisting with:

·Monthly management reporting.

·Board reports for the Group P&L, balance sheet and cashflow.

·Annual Group accounts preparation and audit support

·Monthly treasury forecast consolidation and analysis

·Assist in the set-up of a dozen new legal entities globally

·Own the Global Chart of Accounts and finance contact for Sage GL.

·Updating Group Finance policies and procedures

·Ad hoc analysis, projects and process improvements

·Play a key part in the future of all new finance systems development.

You must be a qualified accountant, CIMA, ACA or ACCA, trained with Big 4 or Medium size Accounting Firm or decent Corporate, with exposure to a global multicurrency environment. You will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a high level of IT literacy, particularly in Excel. You will need experience of consolidated financial statements, have good commercial understanding and be comfortable working at a Board level.
