The Role:

Nigel Wright are delighted to be representing one of Newcastle's largest businesses are seeking an Software Architect to work on a large Digital Transformation Project

Responsibilities:
  • Mentor peers to acquire the finer points of professional practice.
  • Manage the evaluation and documentation of the business needs/processes both operational and financial, including current process analysis and proposed revisions.
  • Manage the design and documentation of system functional requirements in proscribed formats.
  • Assures quality of information through business case and application level testing; validate test results to individual business needs.
  • Manage the design and documentation of system level, information services operations level, and end user level procedures to support business applications.
  • Lead staff, partners, and vendor/supplier staff in the deployment of production applications.
  • Provide on-going troubleshooting, support and maintenance of production applications. Includes 24/7 on call coverage.
  • Works with Service Desk Manager and ETD Manager to design, test and deploy appropriate hardware solutions including system access devices, connectivity requirements and interface solutions.
  • Ensures that assigned projects are completed to time and budget constraints.

Your skills:
  • Possess a higher degree/Masters including courses in computer programming, systems analysis, system development, or systems engineering OR has acquired skills and knowledge via an extensive portfolio of practical experience.
  • Demonstrate intuitive and holistic understanding of highly complex system designs and performance, even in unstable, dynamic or crisis situations based on broad and deep applied professional experience.
  • Have the ability to converse fluently, logically and confidently with a wide range of levels of staff.
  • Able to intervene flexibly/creatively to improve system design and/or performance.
  • Be skilled in conflict management and effectively managing the most challenging relationships among partner organisations, vendors/suppliers and other team members.
  • Have analytical skills including the ability to handle numerical data and statistics
  • Have experience in project management techniques, ideally holding a recognised project management qualification.
  • Have effective organisational and coordination skills, combined with ability to work to deadlines under pressure.
  • Have experience of realising business benefits derived from project deliverables.
