Location: Kent, commutable from: Aylesford, West Malling, Kings Hill, Maidstone, Sittingbourne, Rochester, Gillingham, Chatham, Gravesend, Dartford etc.

Salary: £30,000-£35,000 + Excellent Benefits

Software & Electronics Test Engineer required to join our client in Kent.

We are looking for an experienced Software & Electronics Test Engineer to join a well established yet growing business. This is a fantastic time to join this business as you will be working on the latest technology from their Research and Development team.

What is the role?

As a Software & Electronics Test Engineer you will be part of the Research and Development team working on new technologies and will work closely with developers to execute test iterations, troubleshooting and coordinating defect resolution.

Some of your tasks will be:
  • To design and develop specialised test rigs/programs for automatic regressive testing.
  • To design and develop sub-systems test suites to verify the product requirements are fully satisfied.
  • Working with the SDLC framework.
  • Participate in code and design reviews
  • Work to reduce test times for current regimes and implement process improvements.
  • Provide statistical analysis of test results and report these back to management.

What are we looking for?

To be considered for the Software & Electronics Test Engineer vacancy, we are looking for:
  • HND/Degree Qualification in Software, Electronics or Computer Science
  • Experience working with Electronic Hardware - this could be basic level of testing and fault finding.
  • Understanding of Software Development Life-cycle processes (SDLC)
  • Creation and maintenance of test environments and automation frameworks.
  • Automation testing tools with strong scripting skills - either with Functional & Performance Test Automation tools or using custom tooling developed by Java, Python or Shell Scripting.
