Salary: £50,000 - £56,000

Contract: FTC with chance of permanency

We are working with London Metropolitan University to recruit a Finance Business Partner. We are recruiting a Procurement Manager to lead, develop and deliver a procurement service that will achieve best value in all procurement activity during a period of considerable investment. It is a great opportunity for a procurement professional to progress into a role with leadership responsibility and the chance to drive forward good practice across the organisation. Specific duties will include:
  • Providing a procurement service using a business partnering approach that champions and supports the achievement of best value.
  • Supporting, encouraging and nurturing good procurement and contract management practice across the University
  • Supporting and delivering effective procurement and contract administration processes, applying your procurement knowledge combined with an understanding of business needs and priorities.
  • Keeping up to date and providing advice on statutory and regulatory procurement requirements.
  • Providing advice, coaching and where necessary training others in procurement and contract management approaches.


You will need to be either CIPS qualified or studying with strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads whilst adhering to deadlines. You will also be able to work well and independently as part of a team and within the rapidly changing HE environment.

Excellent analysis, integrated thinking and impact and influencing skills and the ability to negotiate effectively in all dealings is essential. An understanding of standards and legislation gained working in the public sector combined with experience of IT contracts would be ideal.
