Life Opportunities Trust are looking for a Finance Assistant who will report directly to the Finance Manager.

We work with some of the most vulnerable adults in the UK and so we need to recruit passionate, professional and capable people in our HR team to ensure that our people are able to fulfil their roles to the best of their ability.

We're looking for a Finance Assistant who will be rewsponsible for the Management of Accounts Payable and to provide support and cover to the Finance Manager.

The successful candidate will meet regularly with both external and internal customers, helping them and the organisation provide an effective and seamless service.

You'll be a great communicator, be able to quickly build credible and professional working relationships, attention to detail and be very proactive.

The Key Result Areas inclues :

Accounts Payable:

1. Ensure correct authorisation of invoices.

2. Coding of invoices to multiple cost centres.

3. Match purchase orders to correct invoices.

4. Input supplier's invoices into Xero.

5. Run suppliers payment run on a weekly basis.

6. Ensure payments are made in line with agreed terms.

7. Reconcile supplier's statements and chase up missing invoices.

8. Set up new supplier accounts.

9. Process and prepare payments for employee expenses.

10. Answer internal and external queries.

Payroll:

1. Inputting the data from timesheets onto the payroll system.

2. Inputting the data from employee change of circumstances onto the payroll system.

3. Updating new tax codes sent from Inland Revenue onto payroll system.

4. Calculating extra hours (bank duties) for each home and apportioning those hours to the relevant homes.

5. Liaising with Human Resources on payroll issues as required.

Financial Support:

1. Raising sales invoices in Xero.

2. Identify and issue recharge invoices.

3. Follow up on payment of sales ledger invoices.

4. Maintaining and recording Petty Cash transactions.

5. Check and input Petty Cash records from all locations.

6. Prepare and input accruals and prepayments.

7. Assist in the preparation of Management Accounts.

In addition, the Finance Assistant will be required to undertake any other appropriate duties within the framework of the post, in agreement with the Finance Manager.

The Finance Assistant will be required to work a 35-hour week
