THE COMPANY:

A growing FTSE listed business and one of the region most successful businesses is looking to attract and Interim Group Tax Manager to their team. They are a market leader within their field and offer a fantastic fast paced and dynamic working environment. The business is profitable and have one of the region's leading finance teams which they are now looking for some additional support on an interim basis within their Tax Function.

THE JOB:

Reporting into the Group Financial Controller the Group Tax Manager will:
  • Manage the Group's tax affairs
  • Work closely with external advisors to ensure compliance with legislation
  • Oversee a team within the tax function
  • Establish a clear tax policy in line with the businesses wider goals
  • Review and monitor tax policies and ensure procedures/controls are in line
  • Oversee tax reporting processes working closely with external auditors
  • Manage the tax profile of the group
  • Manage relationships with HMRC and external tax advisors
  • Manage the preparation and submission of UK Tax returns for all companies (direct and indirect taxes)
  • Review year end tax provisions and tax disclosures for the statutory accounts for all UK companies
  • Co-ordinate implementation for any tax planning or restructuring activities
  • Undertake and support for M&A team in relation to due diligence and integration activities
  • Provide tax advice to Board and all functions across the group to support business decision
  • Ensure that tax plays key role in the decision-making process and that the corporate structure meets the commercial needs of the business

  • Ad-hoc commercial project and provision of tax support to other areas of the business
  • Development of internal controls in respect of direct and indirect tax compliance
  • Ownership of the Senior Accounting Officer review process

Experience and Background:
  • Qualified professional who can demonstrate a track record of success in their careers to date.
  • Recognised accounting/tax qualification (ACA / CTA)
  • Worked in a direct corporate tax environment with exposure to other taxes (personal & indirect).
  • You will be expected to provide commercial insight into the various business issues across the Group and create opportunities to maximise value.
  • An ability to operate outside of their comfort zone.
  • An ability to change and influence management team
