Finance ManagerGlobal Organisation based in CheshireSalary - £45 - 50, 000 per annumRobert Walters are partnering a global business in the search for a Qualified Accountant to join their UK finance function as a Finance Manager. Supporting a Group Financial Controller you will be responsible for reporting, tax/VAT compliance standards required by IFRS and a large international group along with projects focused around process improvement.

In order to be considered for this Finance Manager opportunity you will have skills/experience as follows:

Qualifications/Attributes
  • ACCA/ACA Qualified Accountant
  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-site and international team
  • Able to travel as the role requires (one short period per quarter)

Experience
  • Performed complex accounting in industry (eg IFRS16 Leases, IAS12 Taxes, IAS19 Employee benefits)
  • Produced VAT returns
  • Experience of working in a large corporate group
  • SAP experience preferred

The Finance Manager will be responsible for:
  • Implement group wide balance sheet review process
  • Support implementation of new software to collate/assess balance sheet controls for the group
  • Support IFRS adoption and compliance in all regions/entities
  • Reduce risk of error on group wide balance sheet reconciliations
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and assess quality
  • Review and approve material journal requests
  • Provide feedback to management and financial accountants across the wider finance team responsible for balance sheet controls
  • Consideration of changes to accounting standards and impact on financial statements
  • Point of contact for financial accounting and reporting advice within the wider finance team
  • Support JSOX compliance across the group

Process Improvement
  • Process improvement for balance sheet reconciliations across the group
  • Maximize SAP functionality to increase robustness of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Develop and improve documentation of accounting procedures across the business
  • Assist with AP process improvements
  • Assist with inter-company process improvements

Tax Compliance
  • Support process improvement in production of VAT returns
  • Implement software for compliance with MTD legislation in UK (making tax digital)
  • Maintain the VAT section of the group tax risk register
  • Review and approve group VAT returns (UK, Australia, NZ, Ireland)
  • Liaise with UK and overseas advisors on VAT matters
  • Support preparation of UK and Ireland CT computations
  • Support preparation of UK PSA return
