Actuation Business Development Engineer - BoeingLocation: Everett, USRole summary:The Actuation Business Development Engineer (BDE) is a key contributor for the identification, targeting and capture of viable new business in the Boeing in accordance with the objectives stated in the company Strategic Plan working as part of a team led by the Business Development Director (BDD).The BDE is responsible for forming business relationships within Boeing with respect to Actuation Products (Flight Controls, Nacelles and Composite Components), to solicit and deliver appropriate pre-proposal activities that lead to formal customer Requests for Proposals (RFPs), as well as supporting the preparation and delivery of successful Actuation Systems (AS) Business Proposals. This involves working pro-actively within a multi-disciplined team that meets Customer expectations and Proposal deadlines. The BDE is also expected to input market intelligence on customer developments, product technology and competitor positioning.The BDE Lead will also provide support for current activities in to Boeing including product development, flight test support, integration and build line support.Principle Accountabilities:Work in manner that adheres to all the companies Ethical Standards, Information Technology Policies, People Philosophies and EH&S Policies and ProceduresFocal point for promoting AS to the customerIdentification and keeping current of Customer organisations and management structuresIdentification of key decision makers and influencers within Customer organisationsEstablishing of appropriate relationships with key customer managementIdentification of new business opportunitiesInput of opportunities to Marketing Opportunities DatabasePrioritisation of new business opportunitiesQuantification and Prioritisation of new business opportunities for Strategic PlanSoliciting and delivery of pre-proposal activities, such as Trade Studies, Requests for Technical Information (RFTIs) etc. to the CustomerReceipt and distribution of Request For Proposals (RFPs) within ASIdentify AS Proposal Themes, Unique Selling Points and Capture StrategiesDelivery of AS Proposals in accordance with RFP dead linesPost-proposal follow up activitiesIdentification of path to secure orderInput to team to Policy DeploymentDemonstrate an understanding and participate in CI/ Lean activitiesRequirements: Personal Characteristics/ QualificationsHND/Degree or equivalent US qualification in engineering or technical disciplineGood practical knowledge and understanding of international aerospace and associated industriesGood interpersonal and people management skillsGood presentation and communication skillsGood oral and written communication skills.Able to empathetically communicate Customer expectationsMinimum 5 years experience and a proven capability in securing bespoke, to-type systems in an aerospace or associated environment or Customer interfacing disciplineOperates with the highest level of personal integrity.Computer literate; familiar with general PC software (e.g. Windows, MS Office)Able to undertake domestic and overseas travel as requiredFlexible approach, calm under pressure and responsive to changeNote to candidates regarding interview scams: We'd like to make it clear that UTC Aerospace Systems never asks candidates for money.
