Operational Technology and Informatics Manager - Biopharma - South East - Permanent

Our client is a leading life science organisation. At present, they are seeking an Operational Technology and Informatics Manager on a permanent basis at their site in the South East, UK.

To ensure operational support, development, security and compliance for all operational IT systems and software
To ensure that the site is compliant with all relevant global policies, procedures and GMP's
To ensure that the site is able to capture, process and interpret scientific and business data in order to make informed decisions
To manage and extend the productive use OT software and hardware across operations and development
As a senior leader within Engineering this role will enable both the ongoing maintenance of the OT systems and the implementation of upgrades and new systems in line with the OT roadmap

Accountability for the integrity and security of the OT systems across UK sites, including ELN\LIMS systems, Process Control Systems, Machine Learning, Data Historians, Network Infrastructure, Laboratory Equipment and Automation covering both GxP and non-GxP implementations.
To own the implementation of the OT roadmap developed by the OTi team.
Managing the routine operation, development and improvement of the sites' OTi systems and associated processes.
Ensuring the compliance of these systems with all relevant local, global, industry and regulatory policies and guidelines
Represent engineering within global automation, global IT and global OT.
Remain aware of external best practice in the field and use this knowledge to develop and maintain the necessary capabilities within the site/region/function
Lead the development of custom software applications were a business need arises

As a key member of the Engineering leaders team, take responsibility within Engineering for specifically agreed areas as delegated by the Head of Engineering. Typically becoming the department leader/owner in areas such as: developing maintenance techniques; EHS, Innovation and value improvement/cost reduction; KPI reporting; Compliance.
Support the frequent Customer and Regulatory Audits and inspection. Where appropriate act as SME as part of the Engineering team in support of a successful audit outcome.
Where appropriate stand in for the Head of Engineering.
Set resourcing and prioritisation of the OT work demands, to ensure that site continues to maintain and continues to improve its OT systems and infrastructure.
To ensure resources are made available to implement improvements to the sites OT systems and infrastructure
To support the team in the above actions
Creating an environment of creativity within your group, encouraging new ideas, and using operational excellence techniques to define measure and improve the team's performance
Established and monitor relevant KPIs for the team and report on success/failures and opportunities for enhancement
Inspiring your people to develop and perform beyond their current perceived capabilities

Support and develop the team to create an in-depth understanding of IT, Engineering and business initiatives, strategies and needs for the future and ensure alignment of OTi delivery with IT Strategy. Developing and implementing a comprehensive OTi Roadmap for the site to ensure that that Operations and Services needs are anticipated and exceeded
