A very exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly progressive Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join our Finance Team.

As we enter the second century serving our local communities we are undergoing a business transformation and are looking for an ambitious Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to provide commercial financial direction and insight, as well as planning and regulatory focus.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing FP&A support for our mortgage and savings books; working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Board to influence and develop the Society's performance and lead analysis for ICAAPs and Recovery Plans.

This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who already works to very high standards, who wants to significantly expand their experience and aspires to move into a Financial Director role in the near to mid-term.

The Role:

The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager will be responsible for formulating the Society's balance sheet, P&L, capital, liquidity and funding plans (under base and stress scenarios) including ICAAP, ILAAP and Recovery Plan development.

This will encompass:
  • Developing our 5-year planning tool to aid scenario planning for the Society.
  • Embed the use of the Society's pricing model.
  • Influencing the business with clear financial analysis and presentations to support Board and Senior Leadership Team decision making.
  • Providing input into Board papers & Committee packs whilst working to tight deadlines.
  • Be a key member at Asset and Liability Committee.
  • Providing strong communication links with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Driving process efficiency and effectiveness.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

A relevant accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).

Ideally, demonstrable experience in a similar capacity OR a "high flying" individual with appropriate capability who is frustrated by a lack of opportunities in their existing role.

A solid understanding of financial and regulatory factors affecting capital and balance sheet frameworks, including Capital or Treasury knowledge.

Experience of working in a financial services organisation.

Strong Analytical skills with excellent Excel experience and be confident analysing data sets. Able to use own initiative and be a self-starter, able to deal with ambiguity, develop recommendations and drive solutions proactively to look after complex processes with multiple stakeholders.

  • £70,000 p.a. (depending upon skills and experience)
