Electrical Construction Engineer

Our client is a leading engineering and project services company who provide bespoke solutions across several marine related sectors. Due to recent growth they now require Electrical Construction Engineers to work at their busy North East facility.

The Role
  • To work with the project team at all levels to ensure the manufactured, assembled and commissioned equipment is delivered on schedule.
  • Developing, maintaining and implementation of project specific construction plan and schedule (all phases i.e. manufacturing and assembly), liaising with all key personnel to ensure a successful product delivery.
  • Identification / co-ordination of project construction requirements including facility, equipment and resource requirements.
  • To develop construction procedures for all aspects of the construction phases (manufacturing and assembly)
  • To identify the requirement, ensure the development and the completion of the required documentation for the assembly, commissioning and installation phases of the project.
  • To work with and provide guidance to the site construction supervisors, technicians and engineers for the project construction phases.
  • To assist the project team (including engineering, assembly and commissioning teams) with resolution of technical issues that may arise during the construction phases of the project.
  • To monitor and record customer feedback on equipment performance, reliability and services and use this information to improve future company performance.
  • Supervision of sub-contractors and producing documentation packages for all electrical installations.
  • Positively promote HSE considerations, ensuring workers follow all HSE requirements and participate in identifying and raising HSE concerns by use of systems such as SHARP cards, Near Miss Reports, etc
  • Required to travel and work nationally and internationally as required to meet the needs of the business, including offshore works.
  • Any other duties as directed by your line manager, the Construction Manager or a member of the SMT.

The Person
  • IT proficient
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Microsoft Project user (basic level)
  • Ability to use AutoCAD and read and interpret engineering drawings
  • A degree or HND/C in engineering and/or excellent progressive career experience in Electrical installation work
  • Experience in heavy engineering environment preferred
  • Involvement in planning and installation of electrical systems to schedule
  • Working within a team to successfully complete installation work
  • Appreciation of budgets and schedules for assembly work
  • Knowledge of Control panels to be able to assist construction in electrical Clean Room.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, as required by the role
  • A flexible approach in order to work shifts required to meet project deadlines
