Pensions Data Analyst - Quality Assurance & AuditCompany:MercerDescription:SummaryBased in Bristol the Data Analyst works in the Quality Assurance & Audit Team within Administration Solutions (AS) and has the responsibility for contributing to the embedding of quality throughout the business. The Data analyst will undertake duties relating to data production, manipulation, verification and sign off prior to issue. The role of the Data Analyst is:To act as part of the first line of defence for the Administration Solutions businessTo work with the operational teams to drive quality through data handlingTo quality review data extracts prior to issueTo work alongside the central Quality, Risk & Control function to ensure a robust control environment is establishedTo contribute towards improvement of operational effectiveness, accuracy and quality in data exercisesTo process and review participant forms and requests and assist with complex participant questionsReview and contribute to operational processes involving dataTo work to a defined timetable and priority orderWork with the operational teams to follow up on data issues and extractsPerform peer review on participant transactions and client reports to include weekly, monthly and quarterly reportingThe Data Analyst will act as an ambassador for Administration Solutions at all times. This Analyst role will be conversant with best practice and will continually look to improve and embed best practice and will continually look to improve and embed best practice and excellence.Job ResponsibilitiesThe job holder will work as part of the Quality Assurance & Audi function to embed a culture of continuous improvement in every aspect of our Administration Manager.The job holder will, with direction from the Senior Manager:Carry out regular reviews of data extractionsAnalyse data that has been manipulated to ensure data integrity is maintainedReview use of vlookups and macros to confirm data integrityReview formatting of data to ensure mail merges format correctly on mergeTo sign off data extracts (including manipulations) before data can be issuedTo review the output to ensure data merges and communications are correctToe ensure data is handled in line with GDPR requirements an internal IT specifications for the provision of data to external sourcesTo assist in the provision of RCA if required around data issuesTo contribute to changes In processes to strengthen controls around data handlingExperienceEssentials:Expert using Excel, VBA, vloookups, macrosData manipulation and data setsInnovative - confident to put ideas forwardOutgoing - works well within a team environmentHappy to travel to other office locations as and when requiredGDPR understanding/knowledgeConfident communication skills, with the ability to liaise at all levelsDesirable:Pensions/FS experience/backgroundHappy to be based in BristolAbout usAt Mercer, we make a difference in the lives of more than 110 million people every day by advancing their health, wealth, and careers.
