A contract IT Support Analyst to provide a broad range of technical support to a large Oxford department.

£120 - £140
3-month Contract (In-scope of IR35)

Your new company The University of Oxford is a complex and stimulating organisation, which enjoys an international reputation as a world-class centre of excellence in research and teaching. This an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly IT literate person to join a well-established IT team for one of our departments. One of our Senior IT officers has been allocated to a complex project leaving a gap in our team. As such we require a 3-month interim to oversee day-to-day support and IT services to the department whilst completing a Windows Server upgrade.

Your new role
You will have the autonomy to support a diverse user base of over 600 users across a multi-site environment, providing technical support and administration to our systems. You will report directly into the IT Director as you oversee and maintain our technical estate by solving 2nd line issues and improving our on-premise and hosted infrastructure through a pipeline of project-based implementations such as the Windows Server upgrade.

What you'll need to succeed Your background of 1st line support in a diverse and changing environment will lead to your success. Alignment with ITIL and an approach of continually improving will help you greatly in your role as you undertake technical projects. Your technical expertise will cover Wintel based infrastructure including strong knowledge of Windows Server 2010/2012/2016, O365 and MS Exchange. Basic experience with virtual technology such as Hyper-V or VMware will be desirable, as will exposure to basic networking such as Cisco, TCP/IP and LAN/WAN.
