Infrastructure Manager- Financial Services- London- £75,000-£85,000

Are you a hands on Infrastructure Manager? Do you have a background working in Financial Services? Managed a team of 5 Engineers? Then read on.

My client is a well regarded investment bank who are looking to on board an experienced Infrastructure Manager to manage a team of 5 Infrastructure Engineers whilst remaining hands and overseeing a successful and established team.

Key responsibilities:
  • Leadership of the Infrastructure team including recruitment, appraisals and day to day coordination of duties
  • Strategic input to the leadership team, contributing to the development of the department and budgets
  • Operation of data centre systems
  • Participate in project planning and implementation ensuring architectural integrity is maintained and changes are aligned to strategy
  • Ensure Disaster Recovery plans are in place and regularly tested
  • Develop, document and review ongoing improvement and implementation of operational procedures, standard processes and methods
  • Attend and participate in weekly Board meetings
  • Continually foster a strong team ethos
  • Manage external service provider relations
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Head of IT

Core Competencies:
  • Experience managing a team of up to 5 Engineers
  • Working knowledge of Financial Services
  • Commercial awareness and ability to manage day-to-day operations of a busy Infrastructure department
  • Hands on experience with a variety of relevant technologies, including but not limited to:
    • VMware
    • Veeam
    • Windows Server
    • MS SQL
    • Exchange 2016
    • SCCM
    • Nagios, Cacti or similar tools
  • Sound technical experience needed to lead and enable the development, maintenance and documentation of the technical architecture
  • Ability to lead the response to critical incidents
  • Knowledge of Service Management principals
  • Strong planning organisational skills
  • Knowledge of information security concepts
