Maths Cover Supervisor (Haverhill)

Are you considering a career as a Maths Teacher?

Are you seeking school-experience for the next academic year to support future teacher training applications?

We are working in partnership with a forward-thinking Secondary School in Haverhill who are looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor with a specialism in Maths for September 2019. You will need to be a 2:1 or First-Class Maths Graduate who is considering a career as a Maths Teacher. Graduates with a non-Maths degree but an A-Level in Maths of C or above are also encouraged to apply.

>Maths Cover Supervisor for a Haverhill-based Secondary School
>Maths graduate with a 2:1 or First-Class Honours required
>Graduates with an A-Level in Maths of C and above welcome to apply
>Previous experience working with 11-16 age range desirable
>Long-term and full-time post (From September 2019-July 2020)
>Opportunities to progress on to Teacher Training from September 2020
>£65-£70 per day

Joining the school on a full-time basis as a Maths Cover Supervisor, you will thrive in the classroom as you immerse yourself into life as a Maths teacher. The role as a Cover Supervisor will involve you delivering pre-planned lessons within Maths. You will be required to deliver the lessons in an engaging and creative way to captivate and retain the attention of the students. You will also need a patient, positive outlook and be able to stay calm and composed in potentially challenging situations.

This Cover Supervisor role requires the successful graduate to be confident presenting engaging lesson content to full classes of students across KS3/KS4. Previous experience tutoring/mentoring is welcomed although support and coaching will be provided by the school.

During the periods where there is not the requirement for you to cover a class, you will get the chance to observe and shadow the experienced Maths teachers in the department. You will also be working with Maths students on a 1:1 and small group intervention basis to accelerate their learning.

To apply for this role, you must have a 2:1 or First-Class Maths related degree, or a Maths A-Level of C or above and have the ambitions to qualify as a Maths teacher in the future.

Click 'apply' and send your CV to Matt Burgum at Edustaff. Please note - only successful applicants will be contacted.
