Investment Controls ManagerAn opportunity has arisen for an Investment Controls Manager to lead the Investment Controls team. As Controls Manager you will be responsible for supporting the Unit Pricing activities and wider Financial Reporting cycles through maintaining a strong control environment and delivering robust financial and accounting MI to key stakeholders every month.Investment Operations are a diverse team of about 55 people whose shared purpose is to calculate, verify and distribute 15,000 unit prices every day for c£150bn of investments. Our customers demand absolute confidence in the value of their pensions and investments, and we pride ourselves in our very high standards of accuracy and timeliness.Leading a team of 10, you will be responsible for maintaining a strong control environment and for accurate, timely, insightful accounting and management information for monthly reporting and governance purposes.Purpose of the role:The Investment Controls Manager has a key leadership role in transforming the culture of the Investment Operations function, unlocking the potential in themselves and every member of their team through effective coaching, personal development and improving the levels of resource fluidity in the team.The Controls Manager will support the development of a culture of controlled continuous improvement through the ruthless application of Systems Thinking methodologies.The role requires someone who:Is a role model for a team going through significant operational and cultural changeAccepts nothing less than process excellence (using Systems Thinking as standard), eradicating inefficient, poorly-governed or bespoke process solutionsRecognises the potential in every member of the team, and is passionate about their responsibility to release itEnjoys a challenge where no two days are the sameDuties & Responsibilities:The role is a key member of the Investment Operations leadership team and will have significant leadership role to play across the entire function.
