1:1 SEN Support Assistant, Chard, September 2019

Monarch education are looking to appoint candidates with experience working with children who have Special Educational Needs. We are looking for supportive and caring candidates who can support children with their learning and development, role model good practices, follow and maintain the child's personal EHCP's in our Exeter & Taunton Schools.

About the role:
  • To work in line with the children's personalised EHCP's and log the children's targets of focus each day by putting the wellbeing, development and progress of the children's learning first.
  • To assist the children around the School environment and during the children's break periods.
  • To work alongside the Teachers & LSA to ensure the children work to the best of their ability during the lessons.
  • To represent the School and work in line with the School's policies and procedures demonstrating respect for diversity and promote equality.

Qualifications required:
  • Experiences working in schools.
  • Relevant qualifications.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEN within the last five years
  • Experience with behaviour management
  • Experience with Makaton (Not desirable)
  • Have a current Team Teach Certificate (Not desirable)
  • Have two educational references within the last five years
  • Completion of Monarch registration procedures and safeguarding checks.

This can be day to day cover supporting a variety of children in a variety of Schools to Fulltime temporary - permanent position Monday to Friday and Term Time only.
