Time Appointments are delighted to be working on behalf of a prestigious firm based in Ipswich who are currently recruiting for an experienced Database Administrator to strengthen their business. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a highly successful company operating throughout East Anglia and surrounding areas.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Engineering of system database administration-related solutions for various firm wide projects and operational needs.
  • Database maintenance of the Practice Management System and other database related systems to industry standards.
  • To gain an advanced knowledge of the firms SQL based PMS and to work with applicable departments to support and enhance this.
  • Performing daily system monitoring and administration on all database systems, verifying the integrity and availability of all related hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups, maintenance plans etc.
  • Provide Tier III support per request from various sources. Investigate and troubleshoot related issues.
  • Make recommendations for future database system upgrades, architectural designs and implement where applicable.
  • Work with the Development team to commission and install new database applications / enhancements.
  • Be directly involved in the development and customization of existing applications to the business requirement.
  • To proactively develop, improve the use, configuration and development of business reports ensuring that the benefits of these are maximised.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required:
  • Proven extensive experience of systems and database administration
  • HND or Foundation Degree in Computer Science as a minimum, or the equivalent experience
  • Strong detailed knowledge and understanding of SQL Server Always on Availability Groups and other replication technologies
  • Experience of using Redgate tools, Toolbelt applications, Monitor, Clone and Mask
  • Advanced SSRS, SSIS knowledge.
  • Proven experience in designing, structuring, Implementing and maintaining RDBMS.
  • Experience of writing advanced queries, stored procedures and UDF's.
  • Data visualisation and creation of dashboards and dynamic charts with data from SQL databases using Excel, SSRS and other BI tools (e.g. PowerBI etc.) would be advantageous.
  • Some experience of .net technologies including, and aspx preferred
