Stock Planner / Forecasting

The Stock Planner is responsible for all stock control activities associated with clients and the delivery of products; and the subsequent monitoring, investigation and resolution of product availability issues, these activities include, but are not limited to, stock control, forecasting & production planning. The individual is the integration point between the internal production planning, business development / client relationship and data analyst functions. The Stock Planner will manage stock levels (product and packaging) through liaising with the company's growing product / packaging suppliers and warehouse facilities to audit stock figures, maximise availability and minimise stock loss.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Develop accurate client product usage forecasts to minimise risk to the business through stock over production by liaising with the Business Development Team and Data Analyst Team to understand client requirements and timescales.
  2. Undertake regular audits of the volume of product and packaging held at warehouse facilities in order to maximise product availability and minimise stock wastage. Relay stock information to the Business Development Team and other business stakeholders as required.
  3. Monitor stock usage against forecasts and deal with any discrepancies, ensuring that stock balances are accurate to allow the optimum level of manufacturing output planning at all times.
  4. Review forecast versus demand figures and liaise with the Business Development Managers to resolve any discrepancies and agree adjusted figures.
  5. Update and audit the company's accounting software to input product production and packaging data.
  6. Support production planning as required through the development of accurate production plans for agreed suppliers, both weekly and long range, in order to meet delivery dates and stock holding within company targets.
  7. Continually look for ways to improve the service delivered to clients and suppliers in support of the company's commercial objectives, through the regular analysis of issues, interpretation of data and the delivery of robust solutions.
  8. Produce accurate management information regarding relevant processes such as stock holding, wastage, forecasting and demand, to allow visibility and effective management of the function by the Supply Chain Operations Manager and Executive Leadership Team.
  9. Have a working knowledge of the duties covered by other members of the Supply Chain Team, in order to provide holiday and absence cover for colleagues. Undertake a variety of administrative work to support the smooth running of the department as required.

Experience Required
  • Experience of demand planning and stock control within supply chain, with a knowledge of forecasting and inventory management.
  • The role will suit an individual who is highly organised, self-motivated, analytical, logical, possesses an eye for detail and can manage and meet deadlines.
  • Strong IT skills (Excel, Word and Microsoft Outlook).
  • The ideal candidate will have the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally.
