We are currently looking for a Finance Officer in Westbury Park, Bristol where our Aurora St Christopher's children's home supports children and young people aged 5 to 19 years with severe and complex difficulties including those on the autistic spectrum and with physical and sensory needs.

The role

As our new Finance Officer you'll play a key role in our administration team at St Christopher's and provide an essential link to our Head Office finance team.

Working closely with our Finance Assistant; you'll provide efficient running of all day to day site-based financial administration including the placing, monitoring and reconciling orders with suppliers and ensuring PO's are generated and authorised.

A key part of your role will be to liaise with our Business Manager and HR Administrators to collate details of staff sickness, new starters/leavers, salary changes and pensions in order to complete a monthly payroll spreadsheet and to check monthly timesheets for hourly paid workers, overtime and adjustments for our support staff.

Additionally you'll work closely with out central team to process staff expense submissions, manage the site's petty cash, credit card management and to provide relevant monthly reports as required.


This would be a great role for an experienced finance administrator to take on a role with more autonomy yet supported by a wider central team. Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:
  • A level Maths or basic finance qualification such as AAT
  • Solid Excel experience
  • Previous experience of working in a finance administration role
  • Experience of processing and collating payroll data
  • Experience of raising purchase orders and supplier invoices
  • Able to work to strict deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly
  • Excellent numerical skills, exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to record keeping
