Open goal ahead! After being managed by the IT team, our IT category is being brought into our procurement team and we're looking for an experienced IT buyer come in and make it their own. There's plenty of opportunity for cost-saving and we need someone to lead the buying process from request to tender, working alongside operational teams and their European counterparts. As well as looking after IT, packaging will also fall under your remit, but this is already well-maintained and should be easy to run with.

There's plenty of work that needs to be done, but this is a great opportunity for someone to come in and really make their mark - who knows where it could lead you?

We're looking to offer a competitive salary for this role. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you'll do on a typical day:
  • Manage an annual spend for IT software and hardware (£14m) and packaging (£25.5m) for 225 sites
  • Go to market with specifications from our operations teams and see the process through from start to finish
  • Review, analyse and negotiate tenders, working closely with European procurement team to negotiate the best deals for the business

What you need to succeed at XPO:
  • A proven track record as an IT buyer in a multi-site, profit-driven environment (packaging experience isn't essential)
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills with the ability to analyse tenders
  • The confidence to represent the business externally and collaborate with Europe-wide stakeholders
  • A desire to take on the IT category with a blank slate and add another string to your bow in the packaging category
