We have a new opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join the YBS Group where you will be working within a team of finance professionals to deliver relevant, reliable and robust financial management information in relation to external financial and regulatory reporting. Acting as a technical subject matter expert you will enable the Group to make well informed decisions leading to future growth, stability and profitability.

What you'll be doing
• As a key member of the Finance Team you will translate and implement plans to ensure that activity is optimised in a controlled environment. Sourcing, analysing and consolidating financial information to the relevant senior management and governance bodies.
• Develop and manage key relationship with both internal and external customers. Ensure clear communication with relevant senior management and Chief Officers in order to determine customers' requirements and priorities.
• Own key deliverables, applying specialist expertise to deliver to and surpass customer expectations. Activities include but not limited to:
  1. External statutory reporting and liaison with external auditors
  2. Analysis and modelling of technically complex accounting areas
  3. Production of technical accounting papers for the Audit Committee
  4. Accountable for the chart of accounts and ledger close activity
  5. Finance controls and mandates
  6. Finance advisory and awareness - including provision of technical updates to finance
  7. Implementation of new accounting standards
  8. Technical queries relating to accounting
• Proactive approach taking personal ownership for own deliverables and processes, making continuous improvements and taking accountability for all aspects of first line risk management for deliverables
• Focussed on own personal development maintains financial accounting knowledge and contributes to high performance of the team and division
• Act as a role model within Finance, demonstrating the Group's values and behaviours.
• Manages the development and maintenance of effective and efficient processes and systems; driving innovation through the identification and implementation of opportunities to streamline and automate processes.

The Knowledge & Skills you'll have
• You will hold a relevant accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• You will be highly numerate, intellectually strong and capable of digesting and interpreting technical information
• You will be well organised, rigorous and methodical with excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver to deadlines
• Ability to identify and address key risks/implications
• Ability to manage your own workload to ensure that activities are correctly prioritised and that all interested parties are aware of responsibilities, deadlines and progress
• Deep understanding of finance regulation, in particular those that are pertinent to the Group
• Ability to review, manage and develop new financial and analytical models
• You will possess knowledge of management and financial accounting principles and be well-versed in approaches and techniques.
• Evidence of professional learning and development to build and maintain skills and expertise
• You will have a good understanding of how financial services organisations operate and the associated regulatory environment
• You will be a confident and articulate communicator with a proven ability to manage all internal and external relationships
