Job Title: Manufacturing/Process Engineer
Location: Bath
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: Negotiable + Bonus + Benefits
Working Hours: Monday-Friday

Reporting to: Manufacturing Operations Manager

Key Areas: Manufacturing / Process / Lean / 5S / Six Sigma / DMFA / Kaizen /

The main objectives will be to improve quality, output and reduce waste within the process. In addition, provide practical technical support to all manufacturing areas in relation to problem solving and efficiency improvements.

The successful candidate will be expected to lead teams within process improvement projects as well as influence areas of manufacturing/engineering with continuous improvement techniques in a low volume, high value manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess processes, take measurements and interpret data

• Design, run, test systems and processes including upgrades

• Develop best practices, routines to improve/optimise production rates and improve quality and consistency

• Act as 'Point of Contact' for DfMA program

• Perform risk assessments

• Arrange regular review meetings and update Manufacturing Operations Manager/Operations Director on status regarding current projects

• Identify and manage resources to execute process improvement projects

• Provide support and guidance to the team

• Develop and maintain standard work/process documents

• Complete projects within allotted timelines and budget

• Provide guidance on necessary capital justifications to optimise processes

• Ensure compliance with company and industry (if applicable) standards
Knowledge and Skills:

• Minimum 5 years' experience working in a similar role

• Experience within Process/Manufacturing Engineering

• Ability to develop knowledge quickly

• Excellent technical skills

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Knowledge of QA standards and statistics

• Computer/systems literate. Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques. Experience in Kaizen, Six Sigma and 5s is highly desirable
