We need you to help us do this.Why this role mattersThis role will support the delivery of the Enterprise risk, control and assurance programme including the 1st line assurance programme for Billing and Revenue, in line with Group requirements. The role holder will be an expert on contract accounting assurance and risk ensuring we're acting in line with both external and Group accounting policies. What you'll be doing• Deliver SOX reporting and assurance testing programme activities for Enterprise• Support the design and delivery of Enterprise's 3 Lines of Defence programme management and implementation, in line with Group requirements, focusing on assurance activities for Billing/Revenue. Also, where required, support the assurance programme for Finance• Work with business and finance leads to identify in our billing / revenue processes the risks, controls and opportunities to improve billing accuracy and reduce revenue leakage• Input to the management of Enterprise's Finance risk register• Contract accounting / assurance, GR9 (group risk): ensure Long Term Contract Accounting Policy (LCAP) is maintained and consistent with IFRS and Group Accounting policies • Provide support to the business in understanding the accounting implications of complex contractual positions, converting these into practical solutions and working practice.• Act as a key contact with Group and other CFUs for matters relating to Enterprise's risk, control and assurance programmes• Act as a key contact for external and internal auditors• Manage a small team• Bold decision maker: Problem solves to achieve business unit plans, providing expertise and insight to support bold decisions.• Solution focussed achiever: Identifies and implements plans to overcome obstacles and achieve ambitious goals.• Collaborative partner: Maintains internal and external relationships, collaborating both operationally and technically to deliver business results.• Assess adequacy of financial controls and processes across Enterprise, including contract accounting positions• Assess Enterprise Finance risk mitigations• Assess adequacy of financial and operational controls and processes across Billing and Revenue functionsWe'll also need to see these on your CV• Controls, Compliance and Risk: Mitigates and remediates gaps in controls through addressing control weaknesses, recommending alternatives and developing approaches to mitigate. Defines specific control project scope and approach, and plans and completes controls advisory projects for financial systems and functions. • Finance Processes: Recommends and implements efficiency and effectiveness measures.• Accounting: Leverages knowledge from multiple functional areas and anticipates impact of future requirements.Understands and consistently applies an advanced knowledge and understanding of company financial statements, accounting principles.• Statutory and External Financial Reporting: Manages relationships with external and internal stakeholders, including external auditors.
