My client is a Tier 1 Main Contractor delivering Highway Improvement works for a local authority, they are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join them on a contract basis. The successful candidate will assist Improvements Design team to progress the feasibility/prelim design of a multidiscipline highway improvement projects, and support other projects the team are delivering.

  • Preparing Auto-CAD drawings and design support to finalise layout options for different parts of scheme.
  • Development of design solutions for pedestrian, cyclist and bus facilities.
  • Drainage review and further investigation of existing drainage network and capacity.
  • Support with pavement investigation communication and noticing
  • Support to finalise feasibility report, including report writing, cost estimates, risk registers, planning investigation works and consultation with key stakeholders.
  • Developing Civils3D highway alignment model during prelim design.

  • 3-5yrs experience delivering design on Civil projects including Highways
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, or Foundation Degree/HNC/HND together with sufficient post qualification experience.
  • CSCS
