The Company:

Currently they have a number of different systems, all which producing data in their own silo environments. They wish to move towards producing a better reporting and data environment for their users and management teams.

The SQL data warehouse is partially developed so this is not a ground-up build, but will require someone to expand on this existing platform using SQL and PowerBI. You'll build and manage the BI environment and lead a small team of analysts. Business engagement is key so we're looking for an individual who actively communicates and understands the needs of the internal customers, while nurturing internal relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the review and development of current management information systems.
  • Be directly involved in the implementation of system improvements.
  • Co-ordinate the development of key performance reports to accurately monitor key performance measures.
  • Use Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to create and develop a range of MIS databases to monitor and report key performance outcomes
  • Create Power BI and SSRS reports for use internally and externally
  • Enhance the SQL Data Warehouse and SSAS cube with additional data and measures
  • Work with colleagues to enable them to clarify and define their information needs, and then develop and provide relevant data in an appropriate format to inform progress reporting and business decisions.
  • Develop bespoke and ad-hoc data reports and analysis as required.
  • Access data from a variety of management systems to generate key reports
  • To assist and train staff in the analysis and interpretation of management data to facilitate timely and accurate business critical decisions.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
  • Previous experience using Microsoft Business Intelligence stack (SQL, Power BI, SSRS)
  • Proficient use of Management Information systems.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in managing, developing and supporting BI/MI data environments and reporting capabilities
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior analysts
