A growing IT support business in the SouthendOnSea area of Essex, has a new permanent job opportunity within 1
st Line IT Helpdesk Support for an individual with the right positive attitude and ability to grasp and relate technical IT issues.

The role:

Providing indepth helpdesk support to a wide, diverse business client base
Resolving helpdesk software and hardware issues or escalating them for further investigation/action.
Proactive monitoring to highlight issues early
Ensuring incidents and service requests are logged, resolved and updated within the SLAs,
Resolving server crashes and unplanned reboots, troubleshooting serverside event logs, maintaining and updating documentation.
Occasional site visits are necessary.
Develop and maintain a high level of technical knowledge, flexibility, common sense and initiative.
Undergo ongoing training and development.

The candidate:

You must be a positive and confident person, and a clear and patient communicator, who enjoys talking with people on the phone.
An ability to clearly and effectively communicate technical issues to nontechnical people is essential to the role.
You must have a logical approach to troubleshooting and be able to follow procedures and processes diligently and accurately.
You must have a strong work ethic and work well within a small team.
Must be able to handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
Ideally with experience of providing telephone support in a multiclient IT service desk environment
Track record of managing a workload and being able to prioritise tasks based upon severity and importance
Any experience in the following would be an advantage:

Microsoft Windows 7/8/10
Administering & supporting Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019
Administering & supporting Office 365,
Administering & supporting Microsoft Exchange 2007/2010/2016
Administering & supporting security platforms
Networking (routers, switches and firewalls)
Network administration & data backup applications
General networking support & DNS/DHCP/GPO administration,
Active Directory Create and manage AD group policies
Virtualisation HyperV/ VDI
Experience of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or later,
Knowledge of how to backup and restore databases
Use of SQL for queries and updates
Living within a reasonable commute to Southend (Essex) or willing to relocate.
Full UK driving licence & access to your own transport when required
Able to live and work in the UK without restriction
