Secondary Teacher - 1:1 support with LAC and vulnerable students

Location: Middlesbrough
Duration: 02/09/2019 - 20/12/2019
Pay rate: £110-£150 dependant on experience

Protocol Education are currently on the lookout for a friendly and approachable Secondary Teacher who can engage in multiple disciplines. The position itself would be working via Middlesbrough Council, this is a full time position with working hours being Monday-Friday 08:30-16:00. Dependant on the child you will be supporting, there is every chance the role may extend beyond December so ideally, we'd be looking for someone who is free after this period as well.

This role would be working with LAC children, and those who are extremely vulnerable in need of intervention. This is very important to note, the students will display complex needs and many have SEMH after experiencing years of toxic stress and not receiving the correct guidance and love. This can manifest as challenging behaviour in most students, so it's important that you have experience and a deep understanding of managing challenging behaviour. The role will be on a 1:1 basis with the student, covering a range of the curriculum.

They have a core principle of engaging and encouraging free flowing methods and forward ways of thinking. They understand that not all pupils learn in the same way, and not all Teachers can perform at their full potential working robotically. All the support you could possibly want will be there ready and waiting, but ultimately this is a place where you can embrace your own ideas and really feel like you're making a genuine difference but in your own way. you will not be micro-managed, you'll be embraced for thinking outside the box and bringing your own energy and personality to the table.

Key Qualifications and qualities required:

·Recognised QTS within a specific Secondary subject, preferably a core curriculum subject
·An ability to plan, deliver and assess across KS3 to KS4.
·Team Teach training (not mandatory, but would be desirable)
·An empathetic and understand person who can deliver with a personal approach
·A genuine interest to help those in need with a nurturing nature that comes naturally
·Being able to remain focused and calm, be reactive to potential issues that may occur with the ability to recognise triggers and diffuse the situation before escalation

If you are interested in the role or you'd like an informal chat to find out more details, then please contact Kyle Johnston on (phone number removed), or you can E-Mail at (url removed)
