LINQ Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced and assured Principle Engineer to work for a high profile Mechanical & Electrical designer and contractor.
This unique opportunity will allow the successful applicant to join an already established and well known, modern thinking company.
The opportunity:
As the lead Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for the deployment and organisation of the Electrical Engineers and will guide and advise the business on Engineering legislation and compliance. To manage all aspects of electrical works for the business to ensure compliance with the Electricity at Work Act.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assume the role of Lead Engineer in the execution of specific delegated tasks and or duties as required.
* Manage VVB's safe system of works an electrical rules in-line with current legislation
* To be the Technical / Lead representative at Project and Progress meetings with Clients, as required. Ensuring a collaborative approach, develop through to lessons learnt meetings.
* Ensure the Company's commercial procedures are fully adhered to
* Act as an ambassador for VVB at all times and to develop business opportunities
* Work in conjunction with the bid team to review fee proposals and scope documents for tenders
* Review and verify design documentation up to 33KV level
* Ensure the design risk assessment process is compliant with legal and construction parameters
* Ensure risks, safety, health, environmental and commercial are designed in line with principles
* Provide engineering solutions to project problems, to satisfy clients expectations, project restrictions and budget constraints
* Undertake site visits, report and advise on Technical, Environmental & Health & Safety issues
* Liaison with installation teams to ensure design suitability, works methodologies and provide solutions on installations issues and constructability
* Ensure appropriate certifications and reports are issued for completed electrical works
* Support procurement with reviewing the electrical supply chain, ensuring their adherence to electrical legislation
* Work with the procurement team to determine product suitability with manufacturers
What you'll need:
* A proven track record of delivering Mechanical/ Electrical, process design projects within budget and programme in a Design & Build Environment.
* Detailed knowledge of all relevant Engineering and Client Standards
* Knowledge of relevant electrical installations legislations and standards, BIM and design modelling standards
* Understand the importance of achieving customer satisfaction by maintaining the highest level of standards.
* Experience and detailed knowledge of SHE requirements, specifically relating to the Electricity at Work Act.
* Be aware of the inter-discipline requirements of design and construct projects
Qualifications needed:
* Minimum HNC/HND
* Engineering Council Registration with preference as Chartered
* Registered member of either CIBSE or IET or other recognised Engineering Council Institutions
* Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
* Full UK drivers license
