Engineering Team Leader

Location: Cambridge

Salary: £37,000

The purpose of the role is:

Our client is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management.

We support a World-wide leader in pharmaceutical developments and in a scientific environment.

The role is essential operations position facilitating engineering practices with a team of highly motivated and skilled team and supporting contractors and staff.

The person will need to be forward thinking and able to work on their own initiative and to make positive decisions for staff and engineering practices.

The successful candidate will undertake maintenance and project tasks emergency, reactive, planned and corrective in accordance with required service level agreements and key performance indicators.

This position is supported by a team off site planners Health and Safety teams and administration procurement and purchasing.

Duties include:
  • Management of the engineering team and team operations including vendors, contractors and staff.
  • Managing systems Engineering Management (EAM) Health and Safety BMS controls engineering and statuary webs and portals.
  • Meeting and maintain KPI's fulfilling SLA requirements with resources supplied both direct labour and contractors.
  • Managing Staffing resources and allocations of works including PPM out of hour's response works for essential and statuary working and emergency response works.
  • Maintaining and managing works associated with critical, essential and non-essential assets in accordance with relevant FMP job plans and Service requests.
  • Follow maintenance health and safety risk assessments on all work activity to ensure safe systems of work must always be adhered to.
  • Support/monitor as a 3rd party maintenance supplier activities when required and report any corrective works arising.
  • Ensure all plant rooms and workspaces are maintained and kept in a safe condition and operational conditions at all times.
  • Report/escalate unsafe conditions including Near-Miss & Accident Reporting.
  • Be part of supporting Out of Hours Emergency call out team, following required training and competency assessments.
  • Responsible for management of systems containing refrigerant in accordance with F Gas regulations.

  • Qualified electrical technician/engineer (C&G/ONC and ideally HNC or higher)
  • Recognised and fully completed apprenticeship
  • Recognized safety training IOSH
  • Skill card (red) - desirable
