2nd Line support Engineer
£22,000 to £25,000
Stockport - Greater Manchester

Mature 2nd Line IT Support engineer. Working within our support team you will be performing 2nd line support tasks, ensuring clients systems are secure and are performing as well as they can.

As the 2nd line support engineer, you will be expected to:

• Coordinate several jobs simultaneously

• Keep the client updated at regular intervals

• Always keep support tickets updated

• Full Windows Desktop stack. All desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office experience. Microsoft patching experience

• Understand networking from an IP and DNS level point of view. Understand what controls IP addresses and DNS

• Basic understanding of Email Administration (Server & Client Side) and servers

• How to initiate remote control sessions • Explain problems simply to clients (they don't care about tech; they just want it fixed)

• User administration. User permissions, setting up new users, decommissioning users

• Computer commissioning. Setting up new computers to a certain standard then customise it for the client

• Software installation, configuration and troubleshooting

• Printer troubleshooting, include scan to Email

• Wireless Networking Troubleshooting

• Perform basic projects

Key skills needed to apply for the 2nd line support engineer role:

All Windows desktop OS's, full experience from installation, upgrading and troubleshooting

• MacOS troubleshooting and upgrades

• Microsoft Office, all recent versions

• MS Office 365 and its core components

• Google G Suite and its core components

• Windows Server Administration + Active Directory and supporting components (DNS, DHCP, etc)
