Our client is recruiting for a Payroll and Finance Officer to join their team at Age UK North Tyneside in North Sheilds.

About the Payroll and Finance Officer role:

You will be responsible for processing and co-ordinating all aspects of payroll on a monthly and annual basis, supporting the group finance functions by ensuring financial controls, processes and reporting deadlines are met.

Duties can include but are not restricted to the following:
  • Prepare and process wages, salaries and staff expenses for payment using SAGE Payroll and BACS online submission.
  • Compliance with HMRC regulatory requirements including the completion and submission of monthly & annual returns
  • Work with the Pension providers to ensure that all pension contributions, processes and systems are accurately administered.
  • Responsible for all expenditure is complete, cross charging and related control accounts balances are correct
  • Deal with external and internal queries relating to payroll
  • To provide finance and admin support within the finance department and assist with all other general office duties as and when required

About you:

You will have a minimum of 2 years payroll experience, including month end and year end procedures for an organisation with 50+ employees.

ATT part qualified and have a Maths and English qualification (Grade A-C)

Other skills and attributes required:
  • Experience with Sage 50 Payroll, Sage 50 Accounts and electronic banking is essential for this job
  • Highly organised, with efficient time management and the ability to prioritise workload
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Actively identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills and have high attention to detail
