Sophos is looking for an experienced, highly motivated individual to establish a technological vision and strategy for delivering custom capabilities on the Salesforce.com platform. Armed with a deep understanding of Salesforce and related technologies, this role will champion and drive Best Practice when considering business requirements for capabilities across Sales and Service Cloud, and ensure the wider Salesforce Technical Architect and Developer community is delivering new features in a highly scalable manner. Responsible for all aspects including development standards, code migration, related platform technologies, and dev ops capabilities, this role will establish architectural, design, and process guidance for all capabilities delivered on the platform

Main Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Architectural Authority for the Salesforce platform, engaging with the vendor and SI community to understand technology capabilities and Best Practice.
  • Design, review and approve architecture for Salesforce ensuring alignment to Salesforce Best Practice.
  • Develop, maintain & govern architecture principles, standards and architectural framework for Salesforce.
  • Engage with Enterprise Architecture, Business Sponsors and Application Managers to understand their strategic direction and build the Salesforce Architecture Roadmap.
  • Proactively look for opportunities to reduce technical debt within the Platform, driving measurable improvement in this area
  • Champion innovation and new technologies within the wider SFDC landscape which can solve known business problems
  • Govern IT projects from a Salesforce point of view.
  • Engage with the Enterprise Architect team, other Architects in IT and across Sophos to understand their strategic direction and review projects.
  • Coach and mentor Salesforce Technical Architect and developer community to ensure adherence to Best Practice, Principles, and Standards.
  • Act as Salesforce Design Authority for cross-functional projects and wider integration to Sophos enterprise applications

Qualifications and Experience
  • Ability to influence and drive technology change with demonstrable business benefits
  • Demonstrable proven track record of software development and delivering major projects on Sales and/or Service Cloud.
  • Deep understanding of capabilities and limitations of Force.com, Heroku, and related ecosystem technologies including Partner/AppExchange offerings.
  • Demonstrated experience in Apex development, Platform Governor Limits, OO development, Architectural Patterns, Continuous Integration and Delivery and Source control.
  • Experience with both Agile and Waterfall development processes.
  • Enterprise level analysis skills, Relational Database modelling, Integration, Web Service & Data Migration Experience
  • Strong communication, collaboration, problem solving, time management and organizational skills
